Motorola has found its new love in the form of shatterproof smartphones. On Thursday, it quietly released its brand new Moto X Force smartphone, which comes with shatterproof 5.4-inch touch panel.
Two day prior, Motorola announced another shatterproof smartphone dubbed as Moto Droid Turbo 2. Both theses shatterproof devices are identical in terms of specifications, except for Moto Droid Turbo 2 will be exclusively available on Verizon network in US. The Droid Turbo 2 also boasts of water-repellent coating to save internals from accidental water splash.
Moto X Force will go to sale in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific in mid-November. However, if you are in US and want to own a shatterproof Motorola phone, then Moto Droid Turbo 2 is the only option available exclusively to Verizon US customers.
The Moto Droid Turbo 2 gets its shatterproof capability from ShatterShield screen, which boasts of five layers of protection against shattering. Out of these five protective layers, two are for touch recognition in case of a nasty fall destroying on of the touch layers. Motorola guarantees that Droid Turbo 2’s display won’t shatter before four years of ‘normal’ use.
