Lenovo A7000 now getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in India

Lenovo A7000 which is a popular mid-range device is now receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in India. The device was launched earlier last year with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on board and a promise to upgrade to marshmallow at a future date. The roll out started earlier this week and is likely to continue for few more days.

The device was launched in many countries, however the update is only available in India as of now. Make sure you have at least 50% battery level before proceeding for update so that phone does not switch off during update process.Lenovo A7000 Android Marshmallow update

The update size is 1359MB and will be delivered through OTA mode. The update optimizes the logic of SD card which essentially means, you can merge the external storage with internal storage and use it to install various apps. The update’s build number is A7000-a_S153_151127_ROW_TO_A7000-a_S223_160405_ROW. It is recommended to have at least 2GB of free space before you proceed to install the update.

The update will also deliver the latest Android security patch which was released in early March. If you don’t see any update notification on your Lenovo A7000 then manually check for the update following the path Settings > About Phone > System Update.

Now lets briefly see what Lenovo A7000 offers in terms of hardware specifications. The Lenovo A7000 features a 5.5 inch HD display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. Under the hood is a a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek chipset paired with 2GB RAM and 8GB of onboard storage which can be expanded further via microSD card slot. The device boasts of an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front facing camera.

The phone packs a 2,900 mAh battery, weighs 140 grams and is available in Onyx Black and Pearl White. Connectivity features available on this device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth and microUSB.
