Intex Cloud Y11, Cloud X1+ Android phones launched: Key Specs Review

By | March 21, 2014

Intex is known for it’s affordable range of smartphones meant for masses. Continuing on it’s legacy Intex recently launched two budget smartphones Cloud Y11 and Cloud X1+ for the Indian markets. Both of these smartphones were listed on Intex’s official website in January without quoting any price and now they are up for grabs on online retailers. Cloud Y11 is available for INR. 4,449 while Cloud X1+ can be bought for INR. 2,990.

Specs wise both the phones are totally outdated but what more can you expect at a price point at which even decent feature phones are not available. Intex’s intent is quite clear here, it wants to tap people who want to surf internet, chat on their phones but are taken back by pricier smartphones. Now let us talk about the features of these smartphones.intex_cloud_y_11_available_online_retailers

Intex Cloud Y11 offers somewhat better specs compared to Cloud X1+. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and is a typical dual SIM smartphone. A 4 inch TFT WVGA display with 480×800 resolution adorns the front and a dual-core 1GHz MediaTek MTK6572A processor with 256MB of RAM provides the necessary processing power for performance.

Due to budget constraints Cloud Y11 offers a 2 megapixel primary camera at the back while a VGA camera at the front takes care of all your video calls and selfie’s. Cloud Y11 only has on board storage of 68 MB, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

You will be surprised to know that at such a low price point Intex Cloud Y11 offers 3G connectivity along with support for standard Bluetooth, Wi-Fi networks and GPS. This device has a decent 1,400 mAh battery to stay alive throughout the day.

Well now let’s talk about Intex Cloud X1+ features and what it has to offer. I would be blunt here, Cloud X1+ is a totally outdated piece of hardware but at the same time it is the cheapest android smartphone available in the market. So at INR. 2,990 it looks like a value for money proposition. However you may get some better deals if you are willing to shell out 1.5 to 2 K more. Cloud X1+  runds Android Gingerbread v2.3.5 and features a 3.5-inch HVGA (320×480 pixels) display and is powered by a single-core 1GHz MediaTek processor. The Cloud X1+ sports a 2-megapixel primary camera with no front facing camera (without 3G it would be anyway obsolete!).

Cloud X1+ is available in white variant at e-commerce website Snapdeal. It has inbuilt storage of 256 MB which can further be expanded upto 32 Gb using microSD cards. This device has a 1,250 mAh battery to power itself up.
