Affordable smartphone and tablet maker, DataWind, on Tuesday announced that all of its devices with mobile internet connectivity will now come with standard 1-year free internet offer on Reliance Communication’s GSM network. The company first announced the 1-year free internet offer on select devices in January.
It must be noted here that the free internet offer only covers internet surfing on UbiSurfer browser. The free-access does not include audio/video streaming or local-downloads, which can alternatively be accessed by upgrading access plans. Only new DataWind customers can avail this one year unlimited data offer.
“The overwhelming response and the resultant customer feedback from the recent launch of PocketSurfer Smartphone helped us take this decision. Starting today, Internet browsing access if going to be free on our entire range and we will be offering this special value offer with Naaptol as our strategic partners in growth,” said Suneet Singh Tuli, President & CEO, DataWind.
Additionally, DataWind, has launched an exclusive ‘UbiSlate 7C+x’ offer in partnership with online retailer Naaptol. The offer consists of DataWind UbiSlate 7C+ tablet bundled with microUSB keyboard and protective cover for Rs. 4,999.
The company launched a range of affordable 2G and 3G enabled smartphones in March this year, which came bundled with same 1-year unlimited internet surfing offer on Reliance Communications GSM network.
