Amazon unveils all new budget Kindle in India for Rs 5999

Amazon the e-commerce giant has launched the budget version of its highly popular ebook reader Kindle in India. It has been priced reasonably at Rs. 5,999 and comes with 20% faster processor, double the storage and a touchscreen based interface. The all new Kindle is a beautiful 6 inch device which is up for pre-orders on Amazon.in and will finally start shipping from October 9.

The all new Kindle has got some cool features to boast of which include Vocabulary builder that automatically adds new words to the dictionary and lets you quiz yourself with the help of flash cards. Whispersync is a feature which allows you to save and synchronize last page read. New Kindle has got battery which can take you through a week easily and also supports Smart Lookup. Based on your reading history the new Kindle can also suggest you the time you will take to read a particular book. Parents can improve their kid’s reading habits by encouraging them to read selected books on Kindle which will in turn earn them achievement badges.

Kindle has got what is really required out of an e-reader i.e., portability and glare free display coupled with powerful battery backup. Kindle is really a treat for avid reader as Kindle store has some 600,000 exclusive books, 30,000 free e books, a million books under Rs. 299 and over 0.25 million books available under Rs. 99. So don’t expect all the features found in Amazon Kindle Paperwhite which sells for Rs. 11,000 for example the new budget Kindle has a lower resolution as compared with original Kindle Paperwhite.
