Chinese tech giant ZTE recently launched newest member of its Nubia series, the Nubia Z9 smartphone in China. The Nubia Z9 is currently available in three variants, each with different RAM and internal storage capacity. The three variants dubbed as ZTE Nubia Z9 Classic, Elite and Exclusive will go on sale from May 21, and are now up for pre-order here for Chinese customers.

The Nubia Z9 Classic has been priced at 3,499 Chinese Yuan ($563), while the ZTE Nubia Z9 Elite and Exclusive come with price tags of 3,999 Yuan ($644) and 4,499 Yuan ($725), respectively. All the three smartphone variants come with dual-SIM feature.ZTE Nubia Z9 classic elite and exclusive

The much talked about almost bezel free look is achieved with a combination of just 0.8mm thick bezels and 2.5D glass. The Nubia Z9’s looks are more than what meets the eyes, the minimal bezels are used by ZTE to enable special features triggered by performing gestures at middle of the phone’s frame, as seen in the picture below.

Theses gestures control various features by what is called as Frame Interactive Technology, or FIT. The FIT enables this phone to perform things like unlocking phone with a unique grip. You may also switch between various apps with your thumb as seen in the picture below. You can open the camera app by turning the Nubia Z9 horizontally and touching four corners with index finger and thumbs. ZTE has allowed third party developers to take advantage of FIT and add more frame gesture controls in the future.ZTE Nubia side gestures

Coming to specs, the device is powered by 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with variant specific RAM of 3 GB and 4 GB respectively. The device has a big enough 5.2-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixel and an excellent pixel density of 424 ppi.

Each variant of Nubia Z9 offers different internal capacities: The Classic for example, comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, whereas both the Elite and Exclusive variants offers 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of built-in storage respectively.
