Xiaomi Mi 4i has gone official after company launched it in a press event in New Delhi on Thursday. The Chinese smartphone maker has been aggressively pursuing Indian smartphone market for quite some time. In fact Xiaomi claims that Mi 4i has been developed keeping Indian taste in mind. Addition of Indian regional language support in Xiaomi phones makes companies intent clear.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i features a 5-inch full HD IPS display, which fits snugly into polycarbonate unibody design and will come in 5 color options. The Mi 4i is powered by a 64-bit 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor paired with 2 GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, dual-SIM, dual standby support and 4G LTE connectivity.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i comes power packed with a 3,120 mAh battery, which will easily give you one day of mixed usage. On the camera front, Mi 4i comes fitted with 13 MP f2.0 primary camera with dual-tone led LED flash and a 5 MP f1.8 front facing shooter.
As per Xiaomi, the Mi 4i is its first smartphone to run Android 5.0 Lollipop with its own MIUI skin layered on top of it. Another new feature known as Visual IVR will also be available on this device. Visual IVR basically saves you from trouble of listening to boring on call IVR messages and presents all the menu items on your smartphone screen in a convenient manner. So in a nut shell you can easily and quickly get the desired information using visual IVR.
Xiaomi’s custom skin MIUI 6 now supports 6 regional Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil and Telgu.
Price and availability:
The Xiaomi Mi 4i joins the long list of powerful yet affordable list of smartphones. As far as pricing is concerned, Mi 4i will be sold for 12,999. It will go on sale beginning April 30 via flash sale and registration for the sale is open now on Flipkart.
Initially, only Flipkart will sell Mi 4i but later on it will be rolled out on other Mi partner retail networks like Snapdeal, Amazon, Airtel stores and The Mobile Store. Interestingly Mi 4i will be the first ever Xiaomi device to be sold through Mi.com in India. Its will simultaneously debut on mi.com, Snapdeal and Amazon. Xiaomi and in fact many other smartphone makers are now going for India first strategy. India will act as launch pad for Xiaomi Mi 4i and later it will reach Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia in May.
