Samsung looks all ready to battle it out with android operating system with the India launch of its first Tizen OS based smartphone. Tizen OS has been developed indigenously by Samsung and was presented as capable of running smart homes at recently concluded CES 2015, Las Vegas. Samsung Z1 has been priced aggressively at Rs. 5,700 ($92).
“The smartphone market in India is rapidly evolving, with many consumers using their device as their screen of choice for content including videos, television programs and video games, as well as a range of apps,” said Hyun Chil Hong, president and CEO, Samsung India Electronics, “We have customized the Samsung Z1 to meet these unique, entertainment-focused needs of local Indian consumers for a personal and reliable mobile experience.”
Apparently Samsung Z1 is the first ever Tizen OS based smartphone produced by company and will be available from 14th January in white, black and wine red colors. In June last year, Samsung announced that it will soon come out with its first Tizen based Z in Russia, however the plan never materialized. Some industry insiders believe that India launch of Z1 has also been delayed considerably.

It has a camera kit consisting of a rear 3.1 megapixel camera and a front facing VGA camera with face detection capability.
Samsung has tied up with major Indian digital entertainment websites to provide free content to its Z1 customers for a period of 3 months.
