Samsung has launched a new value edition(VE) device by the name Galaxy Core Prime VE in India. The device is now up for grabs on Samsung India e-store, priced at Rs. 8,600. The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime VE is the successor to popular Galaxy Core Prime launched in December 2014.
The e-store offers the device in three color options – white, grey and silver. The smartphone is currently out of stock as we write this article, but you can go for ‘notify me’ option as seen in the picture below.
Following on the footsteps of Samsung Galaxy Core Prime launched last year, the new Galaxy Core Prime VE also runs Android 4.4 Kitkat out-of-the-box. Talking about the specifications, the smartphone features a 4.5-inch WVGA PLS display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution resulting into a below average pixel density of 207 ppi.
Under the hood is a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The device also offers 8GB of built-in memory, which could further be expanded via a microSD card of up to 128GB.
As far as imaging capabilities of the device are concerned, it houses a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash support. There is another 2-megapixel front facing camera for selfie lovers. The dual-SIM device provides plethora of connectivity options such as Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and 3G.
The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime VE packs a 2,000 mAh battery, which in tandem with ‘Ultra Power Saving Mode’ can offer up to 1.2 days of standby time with just 10 percent battery. The device looks good with matte body finish with metal sides and measures 130.8×67.9×8.8mm.
Earlier this month, Samsung launched one of its 4G enabled device, the Samsung Galaxy J2, priced at Rs. 8,490. The affordable 4G LTE device will soon go on sale in India and it represents Samsung’s contribution to ‘Make in India’ initiative lead by Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.
