Oppo, the Chinese smartphone maker has been trying hard to make an impact in the Indian smartphone market with star studded advertisements and a lot more. However it still remains out of a common Indian smartphone user’s imagination. But Oppo is still upbeat and is now trying its luck with the launch of its slimmest smartphone till date dubbed as “Oppo R5”. Ironically Oppo R5 was the slimmest smartphone of the world till the time Vivo X5Max was launched recently. Oppo R5 is just 4.85 mm thick, however Vivo 5XMax beats it by a whisker with a thickness of just 4.75 mm. Bad luck for Oppo R5 here!

The Oppo R5 is now up for pre-orders at Oppo stores across India until 15th of January. Wait there is a pleasant surprise for you! When you pre-order your Oppo R5 you also receive a free Oppo back pack as a promotional gift! All this was confirmed by the official twitter handle of the company.

What really surprised us was the mysterious case of a missing 3.5 mm jack which is a norm across even the feature phones these days. But you can always use the bundled micro-USB to 3.5 mm audio jack converter to listen to your favorite music on the go. Wireless O-Music accessory could also be employed to listen to music without using 3.5 mm audio jack. Connectivity options on Oppo R5 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, TD LTE, LTE FDD, and Micro-USB.
