Oppo launches R7 equipped with Octa-Core SoC, 4GB RAM

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo, on Sunday launched its R7 smartphone at an event in Dubai. As of now Oppo has not disclosed the price of R7. Some notable features of this smartphone are full-HD AMOLED display and an impressive 4GB of RAM!

The Oppo R7 will first of all head towards Australian market followed by Taiwan and Singapore. At this time there is no official word from Oppo about availability of Oppo R7 in India market. The device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop layered with ColorOS 2.1 skin on top of it.Oppo R7 launched

Oppo has also not said anything on whether R7 will be receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in future. The 4G enabled dual-SIM device features a 5.5-inch display with full-HD (1080×1920) resolution and is protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covering.

The device gets its raw power from an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) coupled with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. The company proudly brags about 4GB RAM found on this smartphone and this makes it a direct competitor to Asus Zenfone 2, which is also equipped with 4GB of RAM. The Oppo R7 houses 32GB of internal storage yet it is offering memory expansion via microSD cards of up to 128GB.

Coming to the camera, the device houses a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and another 8-megapixel front facing camera for selfie fanatics. The smartphone packs a 3,070 mAh non-removable battery, which gets a boost from in-built VOOC flash charging technology. The company claims that 5 minutes of charge can offer up to 2 hours of talk time.
