Micromax’s Yu Yuphoria running Cyanogen OS 12 launched in India

Micromax’s subsidiary, Yu Televentures, today launched its second version of Cyanogen OS powered smartphone, the Yu Yuphoria in India. The device has been priced at just Rs. 6,999 and will be available exclusively on Amzon.in from 28th May via flash sales. The device has been successful in living up to the hype created by the company in last couple of weeks and tags along host of features you can’t imagine at this price point. The Yu Yuphoria has been built in India from ground up, unlike its predecessor, the Yu Yureka which was simply a rebranded Chinese smartphone.Yu YuphoriaYu Yuphoria’s design makes it stand out of the crowd and metal frame adds durability to it at the same time. This new budget smartphone features a 5-inch HD display (720×1280 pixels) delivering a pixel density of 294 ppi and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covering on top.

The device is powered up by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The device runs Android 5.0 Lollipop based Cyanogen OS 12.Yu Yuphoria 2

The Yu Yuphoria comes power packed with a 2,230 mAh battery, which offers up to 8 hours of music playback, up to 7 hours of talk time and up to 160 hours of standby. It boasts of quick charging feature as well, generally found in flagship devices these days. As per company, the Yuphoria could be charged from 0 to 65% within 45 minutes.

The device also has dual SIM feature and one of the SIM slot supports 4G connectivity. As far as camera is concerned, the Yu Yuphoria features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP wide-angle selfie shooter is found at the front.

On the rear alongside camera is a loudspeaker powered by Wolfson Pure sound. The Yu Yuphoria will be available in buffed steel and champagne gold color options.

The company also launched two products for health freaks, dubbed as YuFit and HealthYu. YuFit is a fitness wrist band which competes with Xiaomi’s Mi Band and is similarly priced at Rs. 999. However, YuFit has an upper hand due to a better AMOLED display at work. HealthYu on the other hand is a slim cassette like device which tracks all the vital stats of your body and has been priced at Rs. 4,500. Both these devices go on sale from next month.
