Micromax is well known for churning out budget smartphones at a really quick pace. We recently spotted one of Micromax’s new smartphone Micromax Canvas Duet AE90 on two online retailer for Rs. 9,299 and Rs. 8,999 respectively. Micromax has not officially announced this smartphone yet and its official price is expected to be Rs. 9,999.
The Micromax Canvas Duet AE90 is a dual SIM phone which supports one GSM and one CDMA SIM card and runs on outdated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It features a 4.5 inch qHD display with 960×540 pixel resolution and hence delivers a pixel density of 245 ppi, which is decent for the price point. One important factor to note here is that only CDMA SIM will support 3G via EVDO network, while the GSM SIM can only provide data at 2G speeds.
Micromax Canvas Duet AE90 is powered by a quad core processor (most probably MediaTek Chipset) clocked at 1.2 GHz coupled with 1 GB of RAM. It has internal storage of 4 GB which could be scaled up to 32 GB if need be using an external microSD card. A 5 megapixel rear camera is provided with LED flash support along with a front facing VGA (0.3 megapixel) camera for selfies and video calls.
It packs an 1,800 mAh battery which is rated to deliver a talk time of 5.5 hours and a standby time of 150 hours. Other connectivity features include Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Hotspot, GPRS, GPS, Micro-USB, 3.5mm audio jack. Micromax Canvas Duet AE90 is currently available on e-commerce portals Infibeam, ebay and Shopclues.
