So finally LG G4, one of the much waited device of the year is out now. The LG G4 represents LG’s flagship and is almost similar to its older sibling, the G3 in terms of dimensions and design with volume and power button placed at the back of the phone just below camera.
However, we have variety of leather back covers this time to give LG G4 an out of the crowd look. LG claims that these leather back covers are made out of premium leather material used in manufacturing of luxury bags and takes around three months to build!
As far as color options are concerned, G4 will be available in Metallic grey, Ceramic white and Shiny gold, while the genuine leather backs will be available in black, brown, red, sky blue, beige and yellow.
Coming to specs, the G4 boasts of a 5.5-inch quad HD display with 2560 x 1440 pixels of resolution, same as its predecessor, the G3. However, all is not the same with the new G4 display, it comes with Quantum IPS panel that is 25 percent brighter, 50 percent better contrast and 20 percent better color accuracy. The new G4 display is also more energy efficient and consumes 11% less power than its predecessor.
If you often drop your phone then G4 may prove to be a good option as it features a Slim Arc design, which basically means it has a slight curve. This subtle arc gives the phone as well as display added strength to bear accidental falls. But this doesn’t mean that you can drop it to your heart’s content!
The G4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor paired with 3 GB of RAM for flawless performance. As of now we are only aware about the 32 GB version of the G4. The memory could be scaled up to 128 GB via microSD card slot. You also get 100 GB of free Google Drive storage for 2 years. What’s more? Well the Google Drive app has been integrated with the gallery, music and file explorer apps so that you can easily move your file to and fro.
The device runs latest Android 5.1 Lollipop with LG’s custom interface on top of it. LG is also boasting of some software package dubbed as ‘human-centric UX 4.0’, which promises to make your smartphone usage more intuitive. For instance, it offers Quick Shot feature, which allows you to click pictures just by tapping twice at the rear key even when the display is off.
On the camera front, the G4 gets a 16-megapixel camera with f/1.8 lens and improved image stabilization. It comes with new ‘color spectrum sensor’ which captures more accurate colors. Then we have an 8-megapixel front facing camera for all the selfie lovers and video call addicts! The device gets a decent 3,000 mAh battery pack.
