LG has just launched G Pro 2 16 GB version in India at an MRP of RS. 51,500 and it is the successor to LG Optimus G pro launched last year for Rs. 42,500. LG G Pro 2 seems to be LG’s answer to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 with a much bigger 5.9 inch display. G Pro 2 has lots of improvements on its predecessor Optimus G Pro like processor has been upgraded from a 1.7 Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset to a much snappier 2.26 Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset. Likewise RAM has been upgraded to 3 GB from previously found 2 GB and a 5.9 inch display has replaced 5.5 inch display found in Optimus G Pro.
It has to be noted here that this phablet appeared on some of the online retailers last week. LG G Pro 2 was earlier announced at the Mobile World Congress. On Tuesday last week Mumbai based Mahesh Telecom tweeted that LG G Pro 2 is due to be launched in India with a MOP (Market Operative Price) of 49,900 as compared to MRP of Rs. 51,500. The very next day retailer tweeted that stocks have arrived and can be grabbed for Rs. 49,900.
LG G Pro 2 was rolled out in home market South Korea soon after being showcased at Mobile World Congress in February this year. Other Asian markets like Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippine, Vietnam and Indonesia got it later in March.
Let’s talk about the LG G Pro 2’s key specs now. This smart phone runs the show on latest version of Android 4.4.2 Kitkat out of the box and may even become eligible to receive the next version. It features a 5.9 inch full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920X1080 pixels and a very thin bezel gives it a compact look. This phablet from LG is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.26 Ghz, along with latest Adreno 330 GPU and a 3 GB of RAM. LG G Pro 2 rear camera is a 13 megapixel auto-focus shooter that comes with OIS+(Optical Image stabilizer Plus) and LED flash. While it has a 2.1 megapixel shooter at the front to take care of your video calls and selfies. At present 2 versions i.e., 16 GB and 32 GB are available and if you still need more storage space then it could be increased(up to 64 GB) using an external microSD card. All these features are backed up by a very good 3,200 mAh battery. LG G Pro 2 is available in three color variants Titan Black, White and Wine Red colour. It also has all the connectivity features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G and 4G LTE.
LG G Pro 2 price:
MRP is 51,500 while MOP as disclosed by Mumbai based Mahesh telecom is 49,900. We however we feel if you try your hands on local mobile retailers or wait for 1 or 2 weeks you can get a better deal.
