The Chinese tech giant Lenovo on Friday unveiled the most affordable 4G LTE smartphone in India dubbed as Lenovo A6000. Lenovo has kept its price surprisingly low at Rs. 6,999 and aims to fulfill the demand for high speed 4G LTE services in near future. Apparently, Lenovo A6000 was earlier showcased as CES 2015 last week and first of all it has been launched for Indian market!
Lenovo A6000 competes with likes of Micromax Yu Yureka (Rs. 8,999) and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G (Rs. 9,999). Propelled by the exciting response of flash sales on Flipkart, Lenovo has partnered with online retailer to sell A6000 exclusively. In order to be eligible for flash sale to be held on 28th of January, you need to register by visiting this link. The registration is open till 6PM of 27th January and flash sale will be conducted at 2 PM IST next day. Lenovo hasn’t disclosed the number of devices up for the flash sale.
“This is perhaps the most value for money LTE device in India, the A6000 promises the perfect balance of speed, performance and ergonomics. With 2015 expected to be the year of 4G LTE, we are committed to take on this new technology and give consumers the best performance,” Lenovo India Director Smartphones Sudhin Mathur told reporters.
As far as design is concerned Lenovo A6000 somewhat resembles Xiaomi Redmi Note at first glance. However, a closer look reveals that it is sleeker at 8.2 mm thickness as opposed to 9.5 mm thickness of Redmi Note. Similarly Lenovo A6000 is lighter, as it just weights 128 grams in comparison to 199 grams of Redmi Note. This phone feels really sturdy in hand and grip is really good, thanks to matte finish found on the back panel.
Lenovo A6000 Specifications and Features Overview:
Lenovo A6000 features a beautiful 5-inch HD IPS display which translates to a pixel density of 294 ppi. It should be noted that its 5-inch display is smaller than 5.5-inch display found on its chief competitors i.e., Micromax Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G. One of the most talked about feature of A6000 is its Dobly Digital Plus certified dual speakers. Speakers have been placed at the back side so while watching a video speaker’s voice may get muffled.
This phone gets its processing power from a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) SoC clocked at 1.2 GHz, paired with 1 GB of RAM. Lenovo A6000 runs Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box, layered with Lenovo’s own Vibe UI 2.0 skin. Lenovo has announced that Lollipop 5.0 update will arrive for A6000, however no time frame has been given for the same.
An 8 megapixel auto focus shooter with LED flash sits at the back, while a 2 megapixel camera could be found at the front side. The A6000 comes power packed with a 2,300 mAh removable battery, which is rated to deliver 13 hours of talk time and 264 hours of stand by time over 3G networks. Lenovo A6000 supports both the 4G LTE bands in India i.e., FDD 1800 MHz (Band 3) and TDD 2300 MHz (Band 40).
