On Monday we told you that Lava is about to launch the first phone in it’s Iris Pros Series on Friday. And today they just did that but the smartphone failed to live up to our expectations. Lava Iris Pro series was due for release since last year as we reported in our last blog post. Lava Iris Pro 30 failed to rise up to the hype created since last year but it is still a nice mid range phone with almost all the features that you would ask for in a decent smartphone. Lava Iris Pro 30 is the flagship or the very first phone for the Iris Pro Series and more handsets would soon be released under this series.
Lava Iris Pro 30 Price:
This smartphone has been launched with a price tag of Rs. 15,999 but you can easily grab this phone for less at your local or some online retailers. Apart from this you may wait for around 1 month and prices will certainly cool down by at least 1.5 to 2k for sure.
Although Lava has for the very first time breached the price point of Rs.15000 but we think it has been priced appropriately. However a lesser price point may have made this smartphone more aggressive in front of competition. Lava says its new smartphone – Iris Pro 30 – the first smartphone under its Iris Pro series is inspired by the famous adage “beauty with brains.” and rightly so as the phone has been beautifully designed and at 7.5mm is sleeker than iPhone 5S and at 114 gram lighter than Nexus 4.

One of the new feature this smartphone has is “Content Adaptive Backlight Control” but the efficacy of this feature totally depends on the quality of sensors deployed to detect the content type.
It is powered by a 1.2 Ghz Quad Core processor which is further supported by a 1 GB RAM and 4 GB of on board memory out of which only 2.43 GB is available for user, while phone’s memory can be expanded using an external microSD card up to 32 GB. Iris Pro 30 supports quad band which means your phone will work seamlessly across networks worldwide and is a dual SIM phone out of which one slot supports only a micro SIM.
Iris Pro 30 Runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and it has a 8 megapixel auto focus primary shooter at the back supported by dual LED flash, while a 3 megapixel shooter at front works well for video chats and taking selfie’s.
Phone has all the standard connectivity features like 3G, EDGE, WiFi etc and it is worthy to note here that it also supports OTG through which you can surf data on a Pen Drive or connect USB Keyboard or mouse etc.
Lava Iris Pro 30 has got a decent battery of 2,000 mAh with CABC power saving technology and as per Lava’s claim will churn out a talk time of around 7.5 hours on 2G network and 4.5 hours on 3G network. While it claims to give a standby time of around 400 hours with single SIM operation.
