OnePlus India announced on Friday that it will hold an open sale for its latest flagship OnePlus 2 on October 12 in partnership with Amazon India. The open sale will be held for an hour between 12pm to 1pm IST, which essentially means one can buy OnePlus 2 without an invite!
OnePlus devices have always been a value for money proposition as they pack top notch hardware for most competitive price. The invite system has faced a lot of criticism and OnePlus assured of improving the supply. On the other hand there runs a parallel grey market for invites.
You can judge the demand for OnePlus devices from the fact that its invites are bought out by fans for as much as 10-20$ a piece! Let’s see what OnePlus 2 offers in terms of specifications and features. The ‘Flagship Killer’ runs custom made Oxygen OS 2.1.0 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The smartphone is equipped with a 5.5-inch in-cell display with full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution and also boasts of 1500:1 contrast ratio. Under the hood is a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz and coupled with an Adreno 430 GPU alongside 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB internal storage.
The OnePlus 2 features 13-megapixel rear camera with sensor pixel size of 1.3 microns, which the company says is 35 per cent larger than standard smartphone cameras. The rear camera also boasts of features like laser auto focus, dual-LED flash support, f/2.0 aperture and 4K video recording. For selfie lovers the OnePlus 2 features a 5-megapixel wide angle front facing camera sensor.
The OnePlus 2 packs a 3,300 mAh battery, which is better than OnePlus one’s 3,100 mAh battery. However, some users complain about absence of fast charging feature which has become mainstream in most of flagship devices these days.
