Surajkund Mela mobile app soon to be launched by Haryana Tourism

Technology is going places these days and Surajkund Mela will be no exception this year! Haryana Tourism has plans to launch a brand new mobile application for mela before it starts on 1st Feb, next year. The main motive cited behind launch of “Surajkund Mela App” is to make mela more visitor friendly and provide as much as information at their finger tips.

The 29th edition of the Surajkund International Crafts mela will kickstart from February 1-15 at Surajkund, Faridabad, Haryana. Surajkund mela is melting pot of Indian culture, crafts as craftsmen, weavers and artists from India come here to showcase best of their talents. Haryana Tourism claims to have made arrangements with online payment gateways to facilitate online payment through app and you may also book entry ticket using it.SurajKund mela app to be launched

Managing Director, Haryana Tourism, Sumita Misra said here today that the tie-ups with more payment gateways to ensure smooth online transactions and convenient entry to the Mela for online ticket customers is surely going to take the mega event to another level.

She said, “it is the need of the hour to offer technologically-sound solutions for visitors. A mobile app is being launched for the public, which can be downloaded on smartphones iOS (Apple) and Android operating systems with which the public can get every kind of information about the Fair, Events Schedule, Artiste/Craftsperson/Performer’s Profile (details including Category, Title, Thumbnail, Description, etc), Location Map, E-Ticketing, Media coverage of the fair, Photo Gallery, Video Gallery, Information Screen, Contact Us.

The Surajkund mela app will be launched much ahead of the mela commencement. The app will be available free of cost from Apple Store (for iPhone/iPads) and Google Play Store (for android os powered devices). A Noida based IT consultancy firm TekMindz had developed this app and using which user can locate his/her location in the mela area.

This app will carry a link to visitor pass application already developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC). Mela visitors will be able to instantly generate passes on their smartphones using visitor pass app. The app also has option to share information on social media and messenger apps like WhatsApp as well.

The contact us tab will provide visitors with mela premises location as well as places like hotels/lodges to stay near mela premises, recreational facilities, neared bus stand, railway station as well as the nearest airport.
