Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad or ABVP, the student wing of the right wing Hindu nationalist party BJP has recently launched its Android app on Google Play Store. This move is being seen as a deliberate attempt to reach out to tech savvy youth and existing members and make them aware about the various activities and causes being taken up by organisation. These days the easiest way to reach a young person is through his/her smartphone and what can be better then launching an app for the same.
To download this app just search “ABVP” in your Google Play Store search bar or you can directly download it from here. “The aim of the app is to encourage more and more youth, who have now become increasingly tech-savvy and like to carry smartphones, to join ABVP and better connect with the our members by disseminating information about the group’s working,” ABVP Delhi State Secretary Saket Bahuguna said.
This ABVP app basically detects your location using the GPS and delivers the most relevant updates and events happening around your location. News content will be heavily loaded with ABVP activities, whereas sections like Views, Chapters, Activities and more will help the organization keep its members up to date. This app also provides you the option to join ABVP directly from its interface as shown in the picture above. Earlier you need to visit ABVP registration camps and pay a nominal joining fee to join ABVP, but now you can join the organisation free of cost and hassle free using this app.
Apart from all this you can directly dial ABVP helpline number from within this app. Pune based app designer MeGo Technologies has developed this wonderful app for ABVP and it works with Android version 2.3 (Gingerbread) and up. ABVP is hopeful that with holiday season near end and with opening of colleges the app will be a huge hit among college going students.
The recently conducted General polls have shown that social media and mobile apps play a decisive role in election outcomes and that was the reason for worst drubbing of Congress at the hands of Narendra Modi led NDA. ABVP has taken a cue out of election results and want to reach more and more youth using technology effectively.
